Book Review: Can You Keep A Secret? By Sophie Kinsella

Title: Can You Keep A Secret?

Series: N/A

Author: Sophie Kinsella

Genre: Romance / Chick Lit

My Rating: ★ ★ ★

Meet Emma Corrigan, a young woman with a huge heart, an irrepressible spirit, and a few little secrets: Secrets from her boyfriend: I've always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken. Secrets from her mother: I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom with Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben-Hur. Secrets she wouldn't share with anyone in the world: I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is. Until she spills them all to a handsome stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger.…Until Emma comes face-to-face with Jack Harper, the company's elusive CEO, a man who knows every single humiliating detail about her...

Some plane turbulence has Emma Corrigan spilling all of her most embarrassing secrets to the stranger sitting next to her. Once the plane lands safely she is obviously mortified and makes her escape, however a few days later she comes face to face with him again when he turns up at her office and she learns he is the CEO of the company that she works.

This book was great fun, really quick to read, and is definitely one I can see myself re-reading when I need a good laugh.

It didn't feel like the most original story but I think what made the book so enjoyable was the characters, especially Emma. She is such a mess but you couldn't help but like her want her to get a happy ending. The side characters were also great, I even enjoyed reading about the unlikable ones for the most part.

So as I said I really enjoyed this one and would highly recommend it if you are looking for something fun and quick to read.
